British number one Christopher Skelley is the man to beat in the battle for gold in the 100kg category at the IBSA Judo Grand Prix in Baku.

The 2017 European champion beat German Oliver Upmann with Ippon in the semi-final.

But he faces a determined challenge in the final from Anatoli Shevchenko from Russia. Shevchenko produced one of the biggest surprises of the competition when the 31-year-old judoka beat four-time Paralympic champion Antonio Tenorio Silva from Brazil after 19 seconds.

In the fight for bronze, Silva faces American Benjamin Goodrich, who beat Azerbaijan’s Kanan Abdullakhanli on his way to the third place match.

The other bronze medal match features Oliver Upmann and Ukrainian Oleksandr Pominov, who won his ticket after beating Yann Goarnisson, from France.
